The CS President Elect serves in that role one year, then as CS President (2010) and a final year as past president. My ten+ years with the Board of Governors, and three years with the IEEE Board of Directors provides a solid foundation to help the Computer Society take full advantage of our IEEE context. Now that I have retired from paid employment, I can serve as a full time CS President.  I am also a candidate for the SSIT Board of Governors which is a complementary (and much less demanding) role.

Our business is to help you access the right resources and technical information when you need them. We also need to support you in your career with tools like certification, policy advocacy, and group services such as insurance. We facilitate the development of relationships that can be used for mentoring, collaboration, and simply the enjoyment of like minded professionals. If you look at our primary activities: publications, standards, conferences, chapters and even the committees that provide the support for these activities you will find these fit into this picture.
